A totally random and not at all suspicious sample of how we do things at Discorderlyconduct! I had the idea to put the characters in a box, but I wasn’t at all happy with the lack of motion happening in the first pic. ( I love ferret Discord dammit ) So Sunshine scribbled an addition to the idea in oC in the second pic. YEEEEAH BINGO THAT’S THE STUFF.
My first sketches are messy as hell, which is really painfully obvious in the third pic. I typically “carve” the figures from scribbly lines until I get what I want instead of relying on careful stick figure bases.
Fourth pic is the first cleanup of that, each figure done in different colors so it’s easier to ink and color all those tangled bodies without getting lost.
Fifth is the final draft.
What’s next? What is this even for? COUGH TOTALLY HAVE NO IDEA COUGH
All I know is when we collab, it’s two halves making one whole.
The sense of personal failure when you have a jackass defending slurs in your notes and then you see they’re following a blog you collab on
To be fair Discord was constantly being an asshole and had lots of issues realizing his actions had consequences. And when people lashed back at him he tended to run away crying or shouting petty insults back and refused to even consider the problem was himself.
Showing empathy and understanding does not mean you are in someone’s pocket. Apologizing for something is not weakness. Calling out and talking about something problematic is not bad. Freedom of speech does not mean you are free from criticism. What really makes me sad about the whole situation is words are powerful things, and more so when so many people look up to you and take your word as law.
