I tried to stay optimistic about the new Monster High movie but pretty much all my favorite characters are MIA or retconned. The few new characters design wise just feel a bit….plain.
I dunno I guess I just like seeing stuff like Gigi’s scorpion tail hair, Ghoulia’s gummy worm/candy doll, two headed mermaid, or ANY of the freaky fusion designs. They just really popped out to me and the current incarnations seem a bit watered down in comparison. Even the box art kinda blurs with all the pinks and purples in the doll aisle, I’m gonna miss those striking black + bright color packaging.
New doll molds though, maybe more variant stuff will come out at later time?
Are we really going to miss Clawd? I mean we never really seen him act brotherly to Clawdeen, Howleen was always around Clawdeen it seemed and was definitely the most prominent sibling, Clawd was a lame boring boyfriend to Draculaura, Valentine was a charmer I don’t even care if he wanted her literal heart he was suave I ship them after Friday Night Frights Clawd has never managed to do anything for me he came off as a jerk, I’ll gladly like to see Romulus though. Maybe they removed Clawd because they wanted the focus and role of male werewolf to go to a possible love interest for Clawdeen. Don’t no one say Clawdeen HAS to be single or she isn’t into boys has anyone read her Gloom Beach postcard she definitely is into boys. This time around Frankie can be the token single ghoul
So Clawd being a jerk for plot purposes - despite a history of loving and respecting his girlfriend - is irredeemable despite apologizing for it while Valentine, who literally tried to steal the lives of multiple people, is prince charming.

let me br-br-break it down for you my friend. first off, allow me to state for the record that there will be no need to “miss” Clawd wolf, because he is not going anywhere, Mattel has already confirmed on various social media that no one is being replaced or disposed of.
CLAWD WOLF, how do I describe Clawd Wolf?
We don’t ever see him acting brotherly to Clawdeen or Howleen? Clawdeen doesn’t need to be coddled- even though Clawd is the eldest Wolf sibling at Monster High, Clawdeen is the alpha wolf of their pack and Howleen is actively rebellious against her older siblings. So there isn’t much room for Clawd in thereat schoolbut when we get glances into their home life a relationship is definitely there. See: Sibling Rivalry. I don’t have any younger siblings so I can’t speak from personal experience but I’m pretty sure giving them the business is part of the package.
Lame boring boyfriend to Draculaura??? are we watching the same series? Clawd does nothing but try to make Draculaura happy… see: the entire plot of Why do Ghouls fall in love. Did Draculaura like the gifts Clawd originally gave her? no she didn’t, she was unnecessarily critical of his gifts- forgetting the fact that they’re gifts! holding him up to this ridiculously high standard. Clawd made Draculaura stairs so she could reach her locker which is a very thoughtful gift! Draculaursa didn’t like it because she can be a little snot sometimes but he saw a problem his GF had and tried to fix it the best way he knew how! He’s 17, cut him some slack.
He politely tells his classmates to mind their own business when they all gawk at Draculaura after she faints from seeing meat see: Fear Pressure… he defended his ladies honor even if he didn’t know why she was fainting.
This isn’t just OLD mh cannon either, even in the new movies Draculaura is still being a snot to Clawd and forcing her vegetarian lifestyle on to him as you can see by the second paragraph of my Great Scarrier Reef review.

also: just as an aside, I would like to say how important
Clawd and Draculauras relationship is in terms of the big picture.
Speaking as someone whose currently in an interracial relationship:
interracial love is STILL a taboo topic. We hardly ever see a black male
character as a love interest in any story let alone one for children
and certainly never with a main character. Clawd is a well rounded
character who does his best to be a good brother AND a boyfriend and he
deserves better than Mattel is giving him.
What if the characters from Monster High were actually designed like actual monsters?
I did these months ago and intended to finish them with hair and and other stuff but I DIDN’T. And since it’s October and THE MONTH OF CREPPY, I decided I’d share. Enjoy?
