     JUMBLETALE - TORIEL SYNOPSIS

If the humans had allowed Toriel and, by extension, all of monsterkind to live in peace, it would have been perfectly fine. All she had dreamed of was a quiet family life. Even as Queen, she could have been afforded that.

Instead, the humans turned on them, and a fierce war ensued. Peace. Love. Compassion. None of these words were worth the breath to speak them. Instead, the breath was used to utter magic incantations, to set the fields aflame. The peaceful queen, stung by betrayal, became angry, violent, and hate-filled. But despite the power that came with her anger, Toriel still conceded defeat, and monsterkind was banished into the Underground, where she and her husband, Asgore, continued to rule.

The wounds of war, physical, mental, and emotional, remained fresh, as fresh as the memory of the war itself in Toriel’s mind. It was only after the birth of her son, Asriel, that they began to scar over and the pain began to subside. Everything she felt she had lost - peace, love, and compassion - began to well up within her again. While Asgore tended the plantlife in and around their home, Toriel would ‘cook’ by putting her fiery magic to a more practical use. Yes, her home had been lost. But perhaps, she could have created a new Home, safe from the humans of the Surface, and a place where her son would have no fear of war.

But one day, a human child appeared in the Underground.

Though initially apprehensive, Toriel welcomed the human child into the family. She raised Asriel and Chara together. Though she would not put the immense pressure on her new child, she hoped, with all that she was, that Chara might someday bridge the gap between humans and monsters, to one day help them leave the Underground and return to the Surface.
    Then everything came crashing down.

Chara grew ill and passed away and Asriel was killed by the humans when he returned Chara’s body to the surface. Toriel fell into a deep depression following the deaths of her children, but there was a rage bubbling just beneath the surface. That rage boiled over, superseding the sadness, when the Royal Scientist revealed Chara’s plot from the video tapes in his lab.

The string of yet another betrayal cut open all of the old wounds that had taken so long to scar over. Toriel became cold and distant, even to her husband and her most loyal subjects. She issued a proclamation: any human that would fall down into the Underground was to be killed on sight, and their SOULs were to be brought to her. Once seven of them had been collected, she would break the barrier and wipe out humanity for once and for all.

Asgore was utterly despaired at this declaration. Unwilling to go along the path of war and unwilling confront Toriel directly. He thrust his spear through his will to–

–shattering the spear into two, and embedded the tip in the throne room floor. Toriel angrily rebuked him and cast him out. He was way ahead of her, fleeing the Capital immediately.

With Asgore gone, the plant life in the castle withered and dried up. Gnarled, thorned vines that once were home to roses and various other flowers curl around her home’s exterior and interior. She refuses to see anyone save for W.D. Gaster, and even then, her intention is clear - he is to retrieve those SOULs, no matter the cost.

All Toriel had dreamed of was a quiet family life.

Now, she will not give the humans the chance to destroy that dream for a third time.

I wrote a thing and Tara and Sunshine drew a thing.

The chara option only has cut under it. I think I spent more time editting the MSPAINT part than editting Papyrus’ original concept sprite lol;

In the Underswap AU idea I had, the main thing was to switch around roles and jobs, but everyone retains their same personality. The circumstances however, would sometimes be vastly different.

The main event that would split the timeline would be the fact Gastor is alive and well, and he shows the tapes of Chara to Toriel.  ((Basically flipping the circumstances of the comic I did about that incident))

Toriel had gone through a war, lost her home, and now lost her son. Not only that,  she found out it was her other adopted son that ended up getting Asriel killed.  She felt so utterly betrayed and disgusted, she couldn’t handle it anymore.

When she tells Asgore that she wanted to wipe out humanity, Asgore is visibly shaken. With the war, he was familier what that could do to someone. He’d seen those eyes before.  He was fine if he was the one suffering, but he couldn’t bear seeing Toriel like this.

He breaks his trident smashing his “fight” button, embedding the bottom in the throne room. Not only did he refuse to fight Toriel about this, he permanently made it so he could never fight again. He flees, Toriel screaming that he was a miserable coward.

Toriel gives Gastor permission to do whatever it takes to acquire the souls.

Gastor’s power is accessing save data.  He had a humanoid test dummy(used to test anti-human weapons) that a certain not-very-good-for-conversation ghost decided to haunt. With many tests, he found he could load any save file he wanted into the dummy, and the dummy would be a mirror of the human (LVL/EXP/Items)  If Frisk makes it to the hallway he’d test them by loading thier own save into the dummy. Anything other that LVL 1 initiates a fight, difficulty based on level.  If you were a genocide route, he’d tell you he’d seen the same darkness humans before and loads a level 20 file in instead.

Gastor uses the same dummy/robot to train Sans, the Royal Guard captain. Sans only knows the 7th child will be someone capable of horrid things (as Gastor proves with some of the files he can load) so this Sans is a tad more–

paranoid. Damn flower isn’t helping his case either. He can’t turn off his eye anymore because of the paranoia, thus needing the eye patch.

While Toriel Dreemurr is more closed off as queen, Asgore keeps the ruin’s door open. He can’t cook very well so he expanded his garden outside, so while there’s snow everywhere it looks more like spring by the door. Papyrus, a sentry, sees him eventually and they become friends. He calls him Mr.Claus (Yeah. he still thinks that. Oops) and learning of Asgore’s cooking issue, he asks the royal cook/mage Undyne (Tune in Undyne the Dining, a very popular TV show) to teach him how to cook.

Asgore personally asks Papyrus to help Frisk reach the castle. He knows what Toriel will probably do, but hopes these two can change things.  Hope was something he could cling to after all these years.

Papyrus would end up being like a party member because subtlety isn’t something he quite understands, and wouldn’t just kinda follow behind. He’d be a tad more proactive.

Though here that would be a great idea.

Also Mettaton is the only ghost without a robot body in this AU. They hired extra help on the snail farm, and Snailpants still whines he never made it big in the city.

Metta’s music video about how terrible Snailpants is at his job went viral.

((We had multiple questions wanted us to expand a bit on that Underswap AU. The entry was a one shot sort of deal, but its based on a AU I had tossed around for a few weeks or so. Here’s the basic gist of the plot line for those of you who were curious!))

WHAT I HAD AN AU NAMED ROLETALE

and its the SAME IDEA u win ;-; bcuz i dont have much followers on wattpad oh at least mine is different

That’s the beauty of AUs, more than one can exist.

I mean swapping their role in the story isn’t a new concept, its most of the AUs I’ve seen besides theme variation. Or both.

The Jumbletale AU idea itself was something I had been kicking around since before Halloween. Changed quite a bit but some ideas I thought were neat to explore so I expanded it since.

and it’s not the only idea I’ve toyed with:

so yeah, nothing is stopping you from making your own.

Trying to pace myself and get re accustomed to drawing scenes again. Still in a bad case of not being able to translate what I want very well but I can tell I feel a bit less awkward. I don’t draw seriously for awhile I get super anxious and everything looks stiff and bad to me.

I really like how this expression came out though.

So needless to say, after doing the last bit of Flowey art, I had to tackle this big fella.  Omega Flowey! This guy made me rage a few times, but in all honesty, I had a bit more trouble figuring out Mettaton’s battles, and I died more during Undynes fight.

That’s not to say I didn’t die A LOT to O.F. here.  Just like 9 times vs. 13 times, or something similar.

look at this cool thing one of my buddies did holy shit
