Finished the new Warcraft book Warcrimes.
The Good:
- Anduin was pretty enjoyable to read.
- I really liked how Baine handled himself over the whole story, probably my favorite part.
- The talks between Anduin and Garrosh were tacky at first but I actually enjoyed what we got to see happen between them.
- Sassy goblin Harrowmeiser.
- Book pointed out the 180 in Garrosh’s character, that made me laugh. I like they pointed out lots of different events that players actually witnessed with Garrosh and made valid points on both ends.
- I like the lesson and theme that the main leaders had to deal with. Jaina’s testimony was pretty heartbreaking. But I’m glad they didn’t leave out what she almost did to Orgrimmar.
The Bad:
- Hey so….Jaina remember those Sunreaver prisoners you STILL have held for no good reason?
- No one gonna talk about what Slyvanas did to Hillsbrade? Or was that Garrosh’s fault too? Or maybe showed the whole convo she had with Garrosh? Or can we not paint HER in a bad light at all? Weh boohoo tragic past weh i remember what love is.
- Vereesa started off ok but how she handled herself in the end was really rushed and…bleh. Wasn’t convincing. “YEAH READY TO JOIN HORDE—oh shit right I have kids NVM undercity 2 spoopy 4 them”
- The whole thing with Alexstrasza was…bad. Awkward….bad. It felt rushed and like the author didn’t really….understand it? Ugh, I have so many thoughts about how awful they slapped this in the story when it had no REASON to be there–especially with what the subject WAS. Egh that whole bit bothered me.
- Orc dude that defected because he felt bad about Magnataur babies being abandoned to the Naga. The things players slaughtered and skinned and experimented on. wat.
- Some of the trial stuff was weirdly immersion breaking in some points.
- What character development they seemed to start putting into why Garrosh did was he did was sorta thrown out the window in the end and turned HERP DERP I’M EVIL TROLOLOL.
- The Celestials are all knowing ASSHOLES.
TL:DR Book was mostly okay, but some of the parts were that were bad were really distractingly bad.
