So, a little over ten years ago, my sister and I ran a Team Rocket fan site called Team Rocket World Wide. My thoughts have gone back to it over the years, but I forget the password and considered it lost to the ages.
Then about a month ago, on a lark, I try logging into the old email associated with it. It worked! I request a password reset and I’m back in the familiar webshell I spent so much time in back in high school. My sister and I decide to redo the layout and start updating again.
The left-hand image used to be on the intro page for the site. I’d never done a ‘draw this again’ picture, and this is one of the oldest pictures I have. A lot has changed in my life since I drew the first image. I’m a much happier person now. It was a little bittersweet to revisit that time in my mind.
It made me think that things can get better (outside of drawing ability though obviously that is also true), and that sometimes things you put aside are just patiently waiting for you to get back to them. Moreover, that as painfully slow as artistic progress can feel, it is happening.
oh my god I used to hang out at that message board all the time and read the fanfics.
