ok my opinions on shoplifting and dumpster diving are as follows:

1. shoplift all you fucking want from big corporations, all they do is take your hard earned money for fucking bullshit anyway and you don’t owe them anything. they pay their workers shit and they ain’t nothing but a cornerstone of capitalism. don’t steal from the little guy tho, that’s uncool. steal from the big guys, they’re sitting on shitloads of money and won’t miss a fuckin candy bar anyway bc with their money they could buy about 3485903485903485904850934850943850934 million candy bars ok

2. don’t dumpster dive if you don’t actually need to, that food is for people who are too poor to buy food.

So I work retail and every quarter we get a little bonus cash based on performance, store’s overall sales, and fright lost (Expired, broken, or stolen)

Out store is very high risk for shoplifting and the bonus is like half of last time. I can’t tell you how many wrappers, half eaten hot and ready food items, and opened drinks and all sorts of stuff I had to report stolen. Less sales, less money earned, hurts our bonuses, we get reprimanded for not catching it more often,  and everyone’s been getting some hours cut across the board.  Oh dont forget wasting time filing claims for the stolen stuff I find.

Oh, more than once I’ve found half eaten rotisserie chickens shoved in the back of shelves too, I only caught it cause it smell awful.

Not to mention electronic items, pharmacy items(Emptying a bunch of pill and putting the half full bottle back), whitening strips (Like 30 for a small light box, we had to start putting them in cases), or beauty products(Small like item in a small box, it was hard to tell when I went to move it that it was empty)

sooooo yeah that has an affect on the little guys too sadly.;
