Drawback of trying to figure out a character: wondering what they’ve seen.
get in the corner and think about what you’ve done
It got better IT GOT WORSE
YOU ARE GROUNDED TO THE CORNER FOR ONE THOUSAND YEARS.
THOSE FLOWERS ARE LOVELY
FIRST HOW DAREYOU
my bad
(I can’t be the only one to guess why a Homeworld Gem of the first war for Earth would have nothing but disdain and hostility towards Crystal Gems, can I?)
Stumblr being a former Scarlet Crusader just really seems to fit, so I’m glad they gave me a way to finally get that set for him. Also I spent too much damn gold on this transmog, holy shit
I got to play around with a Vive for a few hours and painted a Mew and Mewtwo. Mewtwo Is huge, I think he’s roughly 6 feet tall in person, while Mew is like a medium sized dog.
If only it didn’t require a what, $400+ graphics card, i7 series CPU (or better) (and the $400+ pricetag for the hardware as well)
(To “Get VR Ready”, I’ve got to get a stronger card, [750ti won’t cut it] spend another $100 on filling in the other 16gb of RAM slots so I can multitask better[streaming], then $500+ on the Vive. Sure wish they sold it as pieces so I can slowly and affordably buy it. The wands, the receivers/emitters, and then the main headset itself.)
Please tell me you got to play with the Pool Nation VR and break beer bottles with reckless abandon?
Yeah this was at a friend of mine’s place, my comp can barely handle WoW lol. It still lagged after some play and some games glitched quite a bit but…I just can not get over how immersive it was. Videos don’t do it justice at ALL.
I also played:
theBlu - The whale swimming by legitimately intimidated me. Just seeing one swim by in scale was just…wow.
Audioshield - Fun but I lack rhythm so I wasn’t very good lol.
A Chair in a Room: Greenwater - FUCK FUCK FUCK NOPE FUCK. Seeing a video lets play just does NOT do this justice. I couldn’t get over how real even the lady behind the medicine glass was to me, the TV looks so REAL in person. I got legit cold sweat I was so scared seeing that cop with a shotgun outside the hotel window.
Vanishing Realms: Took a minute to get used to teleporting around but holy shit the combat is SO GOOD. Parrying and blocking with two blades or a shield…the bow, being able to literally duck for cover….it felt like what skyward sword WANTED to be. I hope I can finish it next time I visit. Downside was I kept getting too immersed and stepping too far out of the circle.
Waltz of the Wizard - more of a tech demo but very fun to play with. Beth poofed around as a skull and shot things while I kept lighting things on fire and air drawing dicks.
Home Improvisation - Ikea furniture building, with FRIENDS! Didn’t glitch quite as much as it did for Griffon, but it was fun figuring it out. We did 2 player with one on the desktop.

Spreading misinformation is something I’ve come to expect from posters who harass character and ship tags in this fandom. But since Alone At Sea aired, there’s been a new one floating around that disturbs me as an abuse survivor: claiming that the episode was based on a “bad relationship”/“abusive relationship” Rebecca Sugar had. They cite this interview from the MoCCa Arts Festival this year as “evidence”, in which she talks about Margo In Bed, an unfinished comic of hers from 2010-2011 which featured a “proto-Lapis”.
As expected, the interview wasn’t exactly at all what they were saying it was.
Her actual words were that she was coming through a “bad breakup” at the time that Margo In Bed was being created, which isn’t nearly the same as saying “abusive relationship” or “bad relationship”. No further details were given. I’m not saying that an abusive relationship wasn’t a possibility, but SHE did not want to talk about it in those terms, and for people to twist her words to further their narrative about a cartoon character pisses me off, to say the least. It smacks of the same survivor-outing “does not apply to coping survivors! uwu uwu~” disclaimer that all the dedicated harassment blogs have.
The only link she gave between the character Margo and the character Lapis Lazuli, besides visually, was one we’ve heard before:
“It’s a story about emotional manipulation, which ended up being a huge part of Lapis’ character.”
She further went on to laugh about how “I don’t even remember what the words were going to be” on the unfinished Margo pages. I wasn’t able to find the complete work, if it even exists, only the random pages she’s posted here and there. None of them are given context. Yet I’m seeing claims that the Sonic lookalike character was a proto-Jasper, etc. etc.–more projection being passed along as fact. The creator herself doesn’t remember the dialogue, but somehow these folks know EXACTLY what she REALLY wanted to say!
Hate a character, hate a ship, be that person who tags harassment, whatever. But if you have to misrepresent and flat-out lie to try making your opinion seem more legitimate than others’–well, you’re gonna have to work harder to fool others the way you’ve managed to fool yourselves. And it’s frankly fucking creepy how you try to do just that. :T
I did a little digging and it turns out that the origin of the abusive/bad relationship twisting is from one or two people who claim that they totally have sources but, “out of respect” for Rebecca, were not going to reveal them and you should PM them if you want the sources.
If they had any respect for Rebecca, they wouldn’t be twisting her words and using her personal life to bully and harass fans of her show.
