Work in progress. Taking one of my and Kristybob’s oC RP characters and making them into a Gem, modeled after Septarian, also known as Dragonstone. I have three pounds of the stuff in my collection, and I love it! So a sort of IRL fusion here. :p

So will this EQD for Steven Universe actually ask permission to post our art or is it going to be the same story where I’m the last to hear about it?
And will it actually keep track of artists who wish to be blacklisted or will that be ignored again too? Because that is STILL a problem with a lot of image board brony sites. (derpibooru) :l
I loved being told by EQD I was responsible for providing links to everything of mine they took when I gave them a takedown request. /not Getting ad revenue on other peoples’ art without asking is a shitty way to run a railroad, and especially backhanded considering fanartists generally are not making money off their own hard work to begin with.
I’m not really afraid of the fandoms overlapping, because the SU tags seem very diligent in calling out problems, and I’m talking as someone who caught the full force of some of the worst of pony fandom in the past—you guessed it, for also being sick of rapey crap. (I’m detecting a pattern here.) Call out the bads as they surface, report material against the ToS, we already do this stuff, we know the drill. That’s already more than the pony tags ever did without a lot of vocal backlash.
And remember, we oh-so-dreaded “social justice warriors” are the vocal majority in Steven Universe, because we know these issues matter. The baddies will never be able to dismiss us as “lol Tumblrites”, our convictions are there in the show itself, and I somehow very greatly doubt the Crewniverse will ever be changing anything to suit bigots. Maybe the baddies will learn something about real love and tolerance? Bigoted shit like “why is (x pony) black” will NEVER have the foothold it has in MLP. People who do shit like that can say whatever the hell they want, sure, but they’ll be saying it in their own little dark corner where no one but other bads will back them up.
I for one will just be ignoring the hell out of anyone who obviously isn’t picking up on the messages of the show, and keep on drawing. Behavior like that will never be a part of my universe.
